1987 Saleen Mustang #224

This 1987 Saleen Mustang is #224 of 280 examples modified by Saleen Autosport for the model year and was delivered new to Woodfield Ford of Schaumburg, Illinois. The car is finished in black with gold accents over gray cloth and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Saleen additions include upgraded suspension and brakes, 16″ basketweave wheels, front and rear spoilers, a Momo steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and a 3.55 rear axle. The car was initially registered in Illinois and spent time in Wisconsin prior to the selling dealer’s recent acquisition. This Saleen Mustang shows 41k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, Saleen records, a Marti report, an Escort radar detector, a clean Carfax report. Finished in black, the car features a Saleen-specific front fascia, rear spoiler, side skirts, and gold side graphics. A 224 build number, “302” hood emblem, Saleen Mustang windshield decal, and Racecraft Suspension logos adorn the exterior in gold lettering. The selling dealer notes that the hood and passenger’s door were refinished under previous ownership. Gold 16″ five-lug basketweave wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 225/50 General G Max tires that show 2020 date codes. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel, powered-assisted discs.
